Center for Ecoliteracy
FOR: teachers who need support to advance education for sustainable living.
WHAT: It’s hard to say enough about The Center for Ecoliteracy. This non-profit’s aim is to help educators access tools for teaching a wide range of issues involving sustainability. It’s something the center calls ‘Schooling for Sustainability’.
A truly sustainable community is alive — fresh, vital, evolving, diverse, dynamic. It supports the health and quality of life of present and future generations while living within the limits of its social and natural systems. It recognizes the need for justice, and for physical, emotional, intellectual, cultural, and spiritual sustenance.
Upon reaching their website one might feel a bit overwhelmed at the range of the issues, but that is the beauty of the Center. There is something for everyone, whether you want to tackle one issue, like Health and Nutrition, or one of the many others that include Climate Change, Energy, Biodiversity or Population, to name a few.
